The Scented Air

Venice Biennale.

This is in the Chinese Pavillion and part of an exhibition by 5 artists who have taken a sense of flavour (as opposed to light - by which most western art is judged) as a theme. This one is The Scented Air by Yuan Gong. Every few minutes these huge vats spew out what looks like steam, but is said to represent the taste of liquor. Not sure I got the taste, but it was a very impressive spectacle.

The Venice Biennale is a huge affair. We went yesterday and today, but got nowhere near seeing it all. Still, there was a decent lunch to be had as well. All good.
