Foodies Day
The last couple of weeks at school have been a celebration of the Arts in the very broadest sense. A few years ago when this celebration was fisrt introduced many departments got involved and Foodies day was born.
Hmmmm..........
Food - the art of food - a celebration of food - international food.............it was, and remains, one of the most popular days in the Arts festival, and not because it falls on the last day of term!! We had our annual House Song competition beforehand which the students love. It's usually a very noisy, bright, colourful, humorous and raucous, fun affair and this year was no exception.
After the noise and energy of the House Song students spilled out into the quad which had been set up with extra seating and stalls; different groups in school had prepared their fare, some outside food vendors had been invited in to set up stalls, a band played 'live' and a wee market/bazaar atmosphere was created for a couple of hours. Students (and staff!) enjoyed a range of new foods, relaxing at the end of a busy term and - most importantly - enjoying the company of friends, as these girls were.
A great day and a great way to end what has been a crazily busy term.
