Wigwam Burner
I've been wanting to blip one of these for quite sometime. Couldn't get as close to this one today as I would have liked but this will do for now.
Hubby drove me into town to the P.O. right before they closed and since I didn't have anything to share yet I asked him to drive by this for me.
Wigwam burners were used to burn the wood waste from sawmilling. They made tremendous amounts of smoke and were taken out of service and prohibited from use in the early 1970's in Oregon. Woodwaste was being used as a component in various other forest products so was no longer burned, and that of course continues today.
I remember as a kid seeing the big orange sparks fly out of the top of the burners and disappearing into the night sky. I thought the sparks were pretty, and always enjoyed this sight.
