Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

7 X 5 = 35

As I walked from the campus Writing Center this afternoon for the last time during this summer session, I turned back to capture a photo of the building and saw the beautiful roses in the flower garden. I like the combo of both the building and the roses.

Today was my last of seven afternoons and the completion of my summer session duty -- ahhhhhhh! So 7 days X 5 hours = 35 hours. Woohoo! I'm glad that's over. Really, it is not that bad, just not my top choice for ways to spend summer afternoons. It is a great way to earn some extra money. This is the first summer that the center has not been open all day -- 8:00-5:30. This summer the hours were 1:00-6:00, and the campus only opens 4-days a week during the summer and last week was 4th of July so I only worked 3 days.

Tristan, our 4-year-old great grandson, went to Aunt Dede's house Tuesday morning and he will return to us tomorrow afternoon. This has been a nice rest, but I am also looking forward to more time with him this weekend and then extra fun next week because we've planned to spend a few days away with him. We'd like to take him to San Diego Zoo and possibly LegoLand. His mommy arrives here from Oklahoma on Saturday evening, July 23 and will stay for just longer than a week. She will take Tristan to fly home on Monday morning, August 1.

Good night from Southern California.

P.S. Tonight we have a full moon and it has just risen (8:30) above the rooftops across the way . . . a beautiful sight.
