Swallowtail

I was just taking random pictures around the yard tonight. I was really hoping to catch the hummingbird but he wouldn't cooperate with me, lol. I sat for a half hour in the garden waiting, he would come in and as soon as I would get ready to take the shot he would jet off. I decided enough time was spent on the hummer and moved to a different garden when I saw this beautiful butterfly hanging out on the purple coneflower. I took several shots as I walked toward, afraid he might fly off also but I was able to get so close that after I took the picture I was able to hold him in my hands.
