Autumn in July

Today was a sad, rainy day.

We had a dinner appointment with friends, expecting the 14th of July to be a great day for a barbecue, but we ended up eating stew because of the fall-like weather. It turned out to be a great evening. J. cooked a delicious stew with these beautifully orange carrots and a very tender piece of beef. The wine, a Rioja gran reserva, suited perfectly.

Hoping the summer will return soon, though...
