Rydal cave

this is a usual walk for us. We set out from Ambleside and walk along the road to "The Badger Bar" ( more of this later), then we turn off and go down through the woods to Rydal Water. we then take up into the old slate mining area to Rydal Cave. This is just like a massive mouth with teeth. We were the first ones there in the morning so we had it to ourselves. Then we walked over the top and down to the end of Grasmere water. Round here and a wonder through the village of Grasmere. Back to the far end of the lake and then back along the waters edge of Rydal water to the Bar. being another hot day we had just had to stop in at the Badger Bar for a pint of something cold!! Great little bar and great choice of local beers that change regularly. Sauntered back to Ambleside calling in at the Queens Head aswell.
