Early morning snuggles

20months 23days

When I was small, I was bought a duck, by a dear aunt. She bought me, my sister and cousins the same duck. But this one was different. Pluck the Duck became his name. He had fabulous adventures - loved Lesley Garrett, headbanging and received an "MBE" from the "Queen" one year. He was very loved - and his appearance showed it. He slept in my bed every night. Right until Katie was born. Then he slept in her moses basket, at the midwife's suggestion - because he has a beany beak, he went down her back to make her feel like she was still being snuggled, and because he smelt of mummy. When she was first born, snuggling him calmed her. When she became utterly attached to Monkey, I moved Pluck back into my bed. Katie has reclaimed him. She took him this morning and declared him "katie's duck". My dad's said that he thinks she can sense how much Pluck is loved and loves.

Early blip today. We've got a busy day, taking care of the boys today. We're going out in time to give them breakfast, and will come back at bathtime. I'm taking them all to Montessori. I'm pretty excited as I'm also taking canvasses from some photos I did whilst out with a friend and can't wait for her to see them!

It'll be home to ours for lunch so Katie can sleep in her own bed, before we head back to their house for an afternoon of garden play if the weather holds. I'm taking our teeny tiny paddling pool as their pool sprung a leak, so hopefully they can have a bit of a splash. I'll try pop back and update the day later on! Have a good one all xx

Update: It has been a fabulous day. The boys were very good, we had a lot of fun in the afternoon in the garden. We put the little slide into the paddling pool, Katie and Harrison spent an hour watering plants, Aiden chewed a duck and seemed to totally enjoy doing so. A good but tiring day!
