Grouchy and Scratchy

This little chap and his brother were brought to us tonight. They're hoglets - baby hedgehogs with a slight hint of Harry Potter!!

They are very, very cute. This is Grouchy - so named because he has already perfected the unsociable art of curling up in a ball and scowling at everything around him! His spines are still quite soft, whereas his brother Scratchy is also named for descriptive purposes. Ouch!!

They've had a couple of meals and are now curled up together fast asleep. They'll be looked after until they're big enough to be let out into the big wide world, and I imagine they'll be generating a bit of a fan club during their stay!!
