Green-veined white

Not the most perfect specimen, but I've been trying to get a shot of one of these for ages.

Green-veined white artogeia napi is not really a 'cabbage white' although it looks like one in flight. It doesn't eat your brassicas, it prefers wild damp places like streams and watermeadows. The green veins on the underside of the wing which give it its name are obvious when it settles.

I've been out of circulation for a few days while my Dad came to stay and will do a few back blips over the next day or two.
