New born at the Lusangazi Birthing Centre

This is the photo of the day: a mother in the birthing centre with her newborn of five hours. We presented her with clothes for herself and the baby. She was exhausted but leaving for home this afternoon by foot. Earlier today we visited the farm to clean and tidy the vacant rooms. Following that, we potted avocado plants, and ate a nsima lunch with the workers.

Oh! If you notice a little bundle in the baby's hand, It's 500 Mkw about 2 Euro from a custom in the West of Ireland and I'm sure elsewhere, to put something in a baby's hand. More useless information!
