Nothing Finer
There could be no finer a sight at 7.15am this morning than to see my girl home. Yesterday's constant rain had dampened the spirits of some of her festival goer pals, but she and a few others stuck it out. Very sensibly they got up incredibly early, packed, and got back on the 6am bus this morning.
She has never looked so much older, yet younger, more mature, yet in need of a cuddle, stronger, yet limp with exhaustion.
She was still buzzing as we chatted over a cup of tea. I packed her into the shower and off to bed. Her clothes are 10 times worse than the scout campers. Dyno Rod will be calling this afternoon to unblock my drains and then I'll have to replace the washing machine as it will seize up soon.
I am looking forward to my first snuggle down on the sofa with her to hear all the gossip.
I love that she has the remnants of some dazzling face paint here and that she has the cheek, under all that mud, to be bearing a white T-shirt!
My babies are back home, how happy does that make me!
