If It's Not One Thing...

...it's another.

I bought two batteries and a new charger for my Sears Craftsman Weedwacker. I got out my voltmeter to make sure that I had the batteries connected properly and see if they needed charging, but it was giving erratic readings. Luckily I have a spare voltmeter (don't ask), and was able to figure out that the battery connector in the first voltmeter was loose. It's the snap fastener kind -- the same kind of fasteners that were used for clothing before Velcro was invented. I wasn't able to tighten it using pliers, so I'll have to cut the wires and solder in a new connector.

And so it goes. It keeps me off the streets.
