EXTREME close up...

It really is summer, it must be it's raining again. Couldn't be bothered dicing with the rain today at all so decided on another go with the macro. Funnily enough, most of the shots I took tonight were in the rain. The rain seems to make the flies more active and you get to see them cleaning their eyes and actually sucking up water from droplets. The closer in you get an study these little creatures the more interesting they are. Remember that next time you squash one with a rolled up newspaper!

This is a crop of a very close in shot, focus was about as good as it can be with a 1:1 macro lens. The actual fly this was taken off was probably less than 1cm on length.
