A moment in time...

Speckled Mousebird (Colius Striatus)

This little guy kept me busy for a while, and eventually hubby asked me just how many more photos I was going to take of him. Fortunately, he flew off but I managed to get quite a few - it was difficult choosing just one. He sat on this aloe watching the people on the walkway - too cute.

We had a lovely picnic at the Botanical Gardens even if it was chilly at times. Unknown to us before arriving was that a concert was being held in the gardens by a group called Zebra and Giraffe (me - never heard of them but apparently hubby has). The hiccup - entrance went from around R25.00 per adult to a R100.00 (gulp). I was not impressed by the entrance fee but we were determined to have our picnic.

We went to the bird hide - very cool. Told hubby I'd love to go back minus two kids. :D So we'll have to make a plan sometime. We did loads of walking and took loads of photos. Practise makes perfect, right! After today's picnic a macro lens is definitely on the cards.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm wishing mine was a fraction longer :D
