Attracted to the Light

The sun had clearly brought out this moth; we went out to the Folly past Cowes for a birthday lunch...as always, it was nice and warm for my birthday...

...we spotted him as we past the start platform coming back into Lymington...

...a tiny lightweight craft, which takes enormous skill to "fly"...

...the hull lifting totally clear of the water, the wind sitting under the sail, as the boat keels over, aided by the sailor out on the trapeze. It's handling is kept solid by the paper thin keels, which also prevent it from behaving like a kite.
