Spiky bug

I'm not sure what type of bug this is but I think it's a ladybird beetle larva (?) I'm sure the experts amongst you will help me out! It looks a bit as though it belongs to the dinosaur era, although a bit smaller than a t-rex!

Apart from cooking the dinner and taking this photo I've not really done much today. I just feel shattered still. I'm beginning to wander if I might have a virus or even what my son has just had. I feel totally wiped out and just want to sleep. It could just be that end of school year, ready to collapse in a heap from exhaustion feeling - who knows?! Two more weeks to go - yay!
