First music festival

This weekend Kai and I camped for three days at the Ymuno music festival in north wales. We had so much fun. It was all Kai's favourite things rolled into one....the big outdoors, music, his friends, animals, and BUBBLES!! Not just any old bubbles either- giant bubbles, beautifully refracting rainbows against the blue sky (see yesterdays blip)

I had been a little daunted by the prospect of taking him camping on my own but knowing lots of our friends would be there to help, not least if I was flailing blindly around in a collapsed tent(!) was reassuring.

It turned out to be fine. Tiring but wonderful. The gorgeous weather, the musical highlights, and catching up with so many lovely friends all in one place, made every moment of the freezing sleepless nights and sunburn worth it!

In all the special moments, one of the best was when our friend JP found a tiny 3 inch long lizard on his tent and brought it over for Kai to look at. He wasn't very sure at first but with encouragement, touched it's soft warm skin and giggled at how it felt. He was eventually brave enough to let it sit on his knee and watch it breathing and flicking out it's tiny tongue. Kai lost the braveness when the lizard started crawling up his bare tummy and JP had to rescue it! However, he spent the rest of the weekend looking for lizards in the grass and asking me to find one (see Fridays blip)

What a gift this weekend was. Now to try an make Kai's return to normal life this week not too much of a let down!
