Koel or the Asian Cuckoo

This bird appears in the end summers and calls "kooel,koooel, coo,coo,coo..." all day long in the mango season or monsoons. The male is pitch black with ruby red eyes. Its call is immortalized in poetry, folk songs and film songs.
