Reconstruction of Roman Naval Warship on the Mosel
This is a reconstruction of the Roman vessel from a wine merchants tomb on the Moselle at Neumegen or Noviomagus.
The reconstructors assumed that the Roman naval vessels would act as transports when not in military use and so used the excavated remains of patrol vessels on the Rhine as the model.
A beautiful reconstruction on which you can cruise the Moselle and view the vineyards that preserve the 2,000 years of wine growing in this beautiful area.
