Going down to Liverpool

to do nothing...

Not strictly true. A little adventure for Hebs and Coz meant a jam packed afternoon.

James went off to his friend's, for birthday stuff - cinema and suchlike. Hebs and Coz grabbed the chance for an afternoon of mooching and photography and art appreciation.

We boarded the train to Liverpool and it was obvious that we were both a little giddy at the prospect of some time together. I was so excited, I dozed off on the train (non-drowsy hayfever tablets - I don't think so!).

A skinny vanilla latte solved the problem upon arrival at Lime Street. We sat on the concourse and watched this guy kiss the concourse in front of us, arrange his personal items and then promptly attempt to do a headstand. He was rubbish - I could have done better. In fact, I was tempted, but he was behaving quite erratically so I didn't want to upset him!

We wandered down through town and surprisingly, saw no curlers or Ugg boots.

We arrived at the Albert Dock and wandered down to the Tate. A nice cup of tea and a couple of sandwiches turned Corin from this into this. Phew.

Meanwhile, I put my camera on the table and tried to capture the hustle and bustle of the walkway.

Whilst in the Tate, we were very good and refrained from photography, as per the rules. Unlike many others. Pah!

A wander down to Pier Head, past the new museum building. It had turned into a beautiful afternoon. Lots going on down there, including the Italians and the boarders.

It always amazes me when I go into town how much there is to see. Particularly when you look up. Details on the buildings are just amazing and the scale of some of the buildings is just spectacular. I love that city.

Home on the train. We moved carriages to avoid a group of scally lads whose language left something to be desired.

Now, it's late and I am sleepy after so much walking.

Now I will go and sit in the back garden with a moscow mule (!!!!!) and listen to the sounds of Mamma Mia wafting through the summer night air from the local shopping centre - they are screening it outdoors tonight for some reason that I haven't figured. They started at 10pm...gonna be a late one!
