Rooney's

Today the boys got their haircuts in preparation for our vacation. Our oldest son likes to get his hair cut so it's not too difficult to convince him to go, but the younger one would grow his hair until he couldn't see and then STILL not want to go. Although if it started to affect his video game performance, he might change his tune.

Speaking of tunes, he's on a Guitar Hero kick at the moment. He probably could've been Eddie Van Halen on a real guitar with the number of hours he's put in. But he's definitely got the head-banging part down. Too bad we ruined his look.

You might notice Rooney's hours in the photo. You have to like a business that is vague about what time they open but very clear about when they close.

A visit to Rooney's is an experience. There's always interested reading material (Backyard Poultry Magazine anyone?) and they have some weird form of shuffleboard, a tank full of scary-looking fish and gum for a penny. The kids' barber likes to harass them about who they're dating and when they're going to let him give them a mohawk. What's not to like?

Do you think it's sanitary to have gum at a barbershop? Probably not.
