The end of the summer

This morning the kids were having their final splash in the pool before we left for the airport. This evening we were back home and they could have a splash in the back garden as the rain has created a very fine water feature. No need for factor 50 either. We arrived back in Edinburgh at the same time as Debbie Harry and the last two remaining members of Blondie which led to me and Mrs Smith trying to explain who Blondie were to three unimpressed kids - "so was she like Lady Ga Ga then?"

Great to see the sun and even better to spend time away with my mum and dad who came too.
