Upside Down Year
Apparently, this piece of graffiti I noticed this morning means: 'She was poor and ashamed and now she is glorified and revered. All this shows what an upside down year it is!'
The text doesn't look as if it's been battered by winter wind and rain or faded by the relentless summer sun, so I assume it must have been written fairly recently. But it raises so many questions: Is it a quote or a comment? Who is she? How did she manage to change her situation? (because I'd like some lessons!) I doubt any of these questions will ever be answered.
I don't seem to have had the energy to write anything lately as things are getting rather stressful at the moment. At the worst point I actually had occasion to hiss at someone yesterday 'Sorry if my working is disturbing your standing around scratching yourself but move your fucking arse!' The colleague this was aimed at doesn't speak much English so the subtlety of the phrasing was probably lost on him but he seemed to understand the tone and grrr that followed because he soon got out of my way.
Maybe now that I've found some words (albeit someone else's graffiti) the block will clear and I'll be able to find something interesting to say on my next few Blips.
