Imagine my surprise when I saw this fellow loom over me at the South Bank Centre.

Created by Mike de Butts & Alex Geldenhuys out of straw bales, this charming and magnificent, if lugubrious, sculpture is part of the to celebrations surrounding the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Britain.
