Slice of my Life

My First Thai Restaurant

Today has held several firsts! Christine and I drove into Portland--with the aid of her excellent navigating!! We visited the Pearl District--thanks to the exposure of "Senior Moments." While there we visited the Museum of Contemporary Crafts and saw the art exhibit of a famous weaver. Her fabrics were amazing--how did she keep track of the design and pattern? I have a very healthy respect for weavers!

We found this little Thai restaurant as we walked and I had my first Thai meal! The jasmine rice was excellent, the Thai noodles were yummy, and my first ever curry was almost too spicy for me, but I persevered! We also saw a Farmer's Market that had delectable looking blueberries, but they couldn't be bought because the market didn't open for a hour hour!

So, as we drove to the Woodburn outlet mall, we noticed a "berries for sale" sign! We ventured off the freeway, found TWO berry markets, got strawberries, blueberries AND blackberries--got totally lost trying to get to the mall on the back roads-another first--and ended our day with the most delicious Costco ice cream and berries I've ever had! Great Day!
