Macbeth
What a brilliant evening. We went to an open air performance of Macbeth by The Oddsocks Theatre, It was in the grounds of the big house, which provided a magnificent backdrop to the mobile set. Those of you north of the border will be delighted to know there was a saltire flying from the mast on the roof of the mansion.
The production was superb, side-splitting humour, audience participation, and very accessible. All done with a cast of five (4 of them had 3 roles each) a random bloke in the audience played Malcolm, and a small child learnt the words of the messenger and was a natural, other children were the forest, and there was even a 'Mexican wave'
Will Shakespeare would have been delighted with it, and would have enjoyed the Pimm's and Reg's Lamb burgers (Reggie-burgers) and strawberries and cream as much as we did.
Unfortunately the pics I took of the play had too many backs of heads to be worthy of posting here, but the sunset was breathtaking during the interval. There was a strong breeze and it was freezing, but the rain held off, despite the threatening clouds you can see here.
If you get the opportunity to go to an Oddsocks production I would recommend you make the effort to go.
