Piece Of Crap

This could turn into a rant against gullibility; no not could, it is.
I really hate ( is that too strong a word?) the whole concept of tribute acts. I have no problems with bands doing covers, but tribute acts? NO WAY.
Okay you can sing, maybe play an instrument reasonably efficiently; so why not just form a band? Don't pretend to be somebody else.
Look at this list: Take That. They are not even being a band, just 4 guys who probably bear a slight resemblance to Robbie Williams and co. On a drunk night. Singing to backing tracks. I have no proof of this, but I am reckon I won't be far off.
When I talk to people going to see such acts, they usually state, " Well you don't get the chance to see the real things, so we have to make do." Well pardon me hasn't TT just toured, and probably still are, Beyonce at Glastonbury anyone?
Speaking of, Lady Gaga and Beyonce tribute acts? Is the stage big enough for all the sets to make it realistic?
I once picked up a middle aged couple who had travelled down from Inverness to see a guy who came second in a telly show to find the best Elvis impersonator. Second mind you. Now that us sad.
Even if I did understand the need for tribute acts, I would draw the line at one I saw advertised several years ago in a hotel in the city, A Peter Kay tribute. I mean singing some-one else's songs are one thing, but telling some-one else's jokes...
