A Castle or a Church?
I frequently pass by this structure downtown and find it very impressive. It was built in 1894 for an All Souls Universal Congregation and passed into the hands of Seventh Day Adventists in 1939.
Over the years, they did some restoration and renovation, including adding a new wing. And in 1977, the building was designated a historic landmark. I'd love to get inside to look around but that would mean going to church on a Saturday, if they'd even let me in :) The stone is rusticated red sand stone, btw.
So, it is a church but was designed by the Grand Rapids architect, William G. Robinson, who also designed the Metz House and the building now known as "The Castle," both previously blipped. How's that for a tie-in? :)
