Timothy Leary's Drafting Tools
I "turned on, tuned in, and dropped out" late last night while experimenting with the photoelastic stress of these drawing tools using polarizers and an LCD monitor as a back light.
I've tried this before with polarized light sources, but discovered a simpler method was to use an LCD monitor. I simply tilted the monitor back a bit, opened a blank Word doc for a white light source, and then layed out the various acrylic drafting tools.
Next, I composed the image and added a polarizing filter which completely blacked out the LCD monitor light, except for that light shining through the acrylic.
Far out, man.....
