Independence day, Texas!
Well is today a good day to be an English man in America?? I was not sure if the extremely patriotic state of Texas would welcome one English man, but I guess there would only be one way to find out!
After a very nice meal at a bar b que restaurant we headed to sixth street which is austin main street and we began celebrating 4th July! I was secretly hoping to meet stone cold steve austin! Unfortunately I did not and there were no fireworks due to an enforced fire ban due to the wildfires currently being experienced, however I managed to find a fantastic bar which was made even more amazing by the fact it had two dart boards!
I saw this as my chance to show off to the girls just how sporting I truly was (darts is a sport!) anyway I actually threw above average with one visit cumulating 2 bulleyes leaving me double 9 which I took with 1 dart! I won all my games against the girls and followed it up with wins at pool as well! This I imagine impressed them greatly lol!
We had a fantastic and slightly drunk night, with tears, a dance off, mechanical bull riding and stealing from a taxi, I also had to be escorted away from a man who was extremely knowledgable on villa, was so good to talk football but he wanted the conversation to end at least 10 mins before it did!
4th of July and it turns out an English man is very welcome in Texas and can have an amazing time! I now love texas! They are passionate about sport and steak got to love that! Av fun Xx
