Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Staring at the Water

The girls and their parents (son #1) left on the early ferry today, We are exhausted!! 11 days of little kids.(and their parents,--the kids tend to be better when their parents aren't around, but parents do watch them part of the time so it's a toss up which is easier... and that 17 mo old-"total body workout" tires one out even faster ) There's a reason to have them when you are young! As much as I love them to pieces, today I covet quiet. I thought I could only stare into space. But I managed a few cleanup chores and then decided on a nice slow row in the dory out to a nearby island where I know the Pigeon Guillemots hang out and nest in the rocks. And I could stare at the water! In peace. Alone. The wind came up so it was too choppy to hold the camera steady and unfortunately I didn't have the speed cranked up enough, but I liked this guy with a fish in his mouth - you can clearly see the shape of the white patch on his wing and his little red feet, so I just played with the filters. (I think this is crosshatch?) I'll try for a more natural, sharper one another time.
Not expecting any visitors for a week, :-) so I hope I can get to the dvds that came with the digital Photography magazines I bought 2 weeks ago that are full of good camera and photoshop tips. (I hope)
