Still with the mandolin theme, this is a view from the bridge towards the tailpiece (i.e. away from the fretboard to the bottom of the instrument) showing the little rubber grommets that dampen unwanted vibrations from the "wrong" side of the bridge. Electrical grommets work nicely for this. Some tailpieces have rubber liners for the same purpose.
