Aptly Named

The Comma Butterfly.

Comma butterflies love to bask in the sun with their wings open, showing the rich chestnut colouring.
When they fold their wings up, the dull colouration and ragged edges create the illusion of a dried up autumnal leaf, which provides the perfect camoflauge for the over-wintering adults - that is - apart from the small yet striking white comma shape.

Once again the vivid yellow leaves of this rosie - shrubby - shrub - bush in the garden provides the backdrop.

What fun to be named after a punctuation mark, I'd like to be Annie Asterisk.

Apologies to the early birds, but I've changed the image. The plants will still be there tomorrow, who knows with a butterfly?
