Going back to plan B
Through problems with my health and various hurdles in life, which I won't get in to here, I find myself aged 27 and still attempting to gain a degree, 9 years after I originally began my university studies.
Needless to say I'm getting tired and disillusioned. I've assessed my credits, looked at my options and decided to take the route that means only another year of part time level 2 study to get a degree rather than another two years of very full time, level 3 study which may well actually push me to breaking point.
In view of being a real grown up in a year's time, and due to my non-existant work history (see aforementioned ill health) I have begun to consider easing myself back in to the world of work through some part time volunteering. Today's emergency blip is my letter to the Water of Leith visitors centre where I hope to get some part time work on reception and as a river patrol volunteer whilst I finish my studies.
