Sea foam.....

.....one of nature's abstracts.....
a) because it's rather beautiful, and all down to it, not me
b) because the seafront was devoid of human interest this morning

If you click on Todays Location Map you'll see the foam was in the Table Rocks Bathing Pool.....not that anyone swims there any more except for dogs! I found a bit of background info on the pool which I might as well bore you with (fair's fair and all that)

"Writing a guide to the coast in 1893, W. W. Tomlinson noted a 20 feet by 11 feet pool on the Table, North of Crawley Rocks at Whitley. He wished that someone would develop the area around it for swimmers, to compare with Port Skillion, in the Isle of Man. On 27th July 1894 a W. Scott applied to the Council for permission to make a swimming pool at Table Rocks, and the Whitley Seaside Chronicle noted that it was to be ready in 12 months.
Charles Henry Megson Robson, a solicitor, of Edwards Road, later claimed to have been behind the scheme. He had paid £200, from his own pocket, and raised £28 by public subscription. The Council was asked to extend the pool in 1896, but refused on the grounds of cost.
R. l. Grice's indoor baths, begun at Whitley Terrace in 1897, must have taken away some of the bathers for a time. However, in 1909 the Council noted that his baths had been closed for the season, and were not to be reopened. Once again they were asked to enlarge the Table Rocks pool. It was decided to include the project in the Rockcliffe promenade improvements, and the Surveyor was set to work extending the pool to 70 feet in length."

Oh, and when I eventually decorate the bathroom I'm definitely going to buy a print of this old LNER railway poster showing the pool in it's heyday!
