No one to smell the winter sweet

Was walking today and went through the grounds of the lovely historic old house in Evelyn Cousins Reserve. The smell was glorious from the winter sweet, but sadly the old house has been orange stickered, and may not be able to be saved.

Yet another casualty of the earthquake - and apart from losing history, the house was used for all kinds of local clubs and activities, from flax weaving to gentle exercise for the elderly.

Once a hive of activity it now lies empty and forlorn. Such a shame.
