Cable trench, dusk

An eventful day with the JCB.

Scottish Hydro were due on friday to finally connect us. A call to them this morning revealed that they are coming tomorrow. Yikes!

I had planned to re-excavate the service trench (that already contains the water main) today anyway. By 0945 hrs the track had come of the JCB. Oh dear. it took the next 2 hours to sort it out but the repairs revealed a more fundamental problem that will need attending to. The cogged wheel at the left front has nearly worn through it's axle.

At 1415hrs the bucket came off. Back on 10 minutes later. 1500hrs the diesel ran out.

Finally finished at 1800hrs.

This blip shows the trench with the armoured BT cable already insitu. The big wheel shown is the electrical main with the copper earth beside it.
