Five Bridges

A bit of nostalgia today and a bit of arty-fartyness.

Nostalgia, as I am in Newcastle where I spent the first few months of my college career many years ago. At that time I was a great fan of bands like Emerson Lake and Palmer and of course, The Nice, whose version of the Five Bridges suite, dedicated to the five bridges crossing the Tyne, I am listening to, and thoroughly enjoying whist uploading to Blip.

Grey's monument, pictured here stands at the top of Grey St and Grainger St, and is set against a modern new building in Blackett St. Walking down Grey St, I came across a series of modern glass benches with the logo - Nine things to do on a bench! They give one idea, kiss, but I'd dearly like to know what the other 8 are. Could find no clues.

And the arty bit. A bit of black and white to give the bridges a bit of age. I liked it.

And for the more observant of you, yes that is a seagull on top of Earl Grey's Head. Perhaps that's what gives the tea its flavour.
