North American Swallowtail Butterfly

FINALLY, right place, right time to see this beauty land on our shrub and open his wings full out to take in a bit of sunbathing. Knowing full well I won't get any terrific fireworks shot, I think I will celebrate our independence with this beautiful flying insect. Especially since I was recently whining to somebody who posted a gorgeous butterfly blip that I just don't get many butterfly opportunities.

Kind of quiet out there in blipland (at least for me) because of this holiday weekend, so I hope that means everyone is having fun, away from computers, phones, etc and enjoying people, places and some good food.
