Graffiti?
Many many years ago, "when the world was young and all". And so was I.
We used to visit St. Bees quite a lot. In those far-off days I was part mountain goat and happily leapt from ginormous rock to ditto rock with never a flinch. (A bit like a finch)
I have to freely admit that the old shock absorbers in the bendy bits ain't what they used to be and there was zero leaping.
In consequence I didn't get as far round the head as I suspect I needed to be. (Will try again in fewer than 20-40 yrs)
What I was looking for, and failed to find, was some possibly Victorian graffiti of which a Monumental Mason would have been proud.
Best I could find is the middle one right hand side.
Oldest I could find was 1871 centre pane. (Or center to you furriners)
