Sweeter than candy on a stick

We had an old fashioned "grand day out" today at the Ayr Field day in St Ives. This is a recent event started about 6 years ago to celebrate the local community managing to get the council to protects a green space in the middle of town as a playing field rather than the councils plans for a concrete car park.

Lots of local community groups have stalls and there are 2 marques for performing in. Sarah and I sung in our choir KRUners at lunchtime than a little later played with the St Ives Concert Band. Its a great community event as its not at all commercial but is just there for locals to have a bit of fun and show off their skills.

The sun never stopped shining, We sung pretty well and played better than ever before so all in all, definitely a Grand Day Out.

Oh yes, and there was candyfloss which is the only food that breaks the rule "Never eat anything bigger than your head"
