For the family

Old and falling down

Our cluster of houses are built on an old orchard and initially each garden had an apple tree. Several have been removed by the house owner, but a few have remained in place for about 80 years, providing great fun for the kids to climb and apples for mums to make pies.

My friend discovered one morning last week that her tree had assumed a new position in the garden and the upper branches, which are laden with apples, are now parked on the shed!!

Initial sadness at the end of an era has now changed to positive thoughs of planting a plumb tree. We still have our apple tree so we will do swaps with her in the future and widen our rang of fruit pies.
