Memories No.2

He was my Idol and still is - My Dad, tomorrow will be 2 yrs since he left us, and went to join Mom, but today as I was doing my dusting in the living room, I opened the cabinet door to brush the dust away, and I had to sit a while, and remember him.

He was a very proud man, a family man, a loving father, husband and grandad.

He served his 2 yrs National Service in Malaysia, with the Cheshire Regiment, and loved to tell the tale, he was a member of the Boxing Team which helped him along the way, when his "Kit" wasnt up to scratch at inspection, he could get away with murder, and the hierachy doing the inspection would turn a blind eye, saying "Eaton-Lees" good fight last night, keep up the good work, his army mates used to rib him, up until the last - he was to be a PT Instructer when he was demobbed, but family ties were more important, and he went into the family business.

The Tea set in the shot, was just one of the many items he bought back with him from Malaysia, It was an item that was always in a cabinet in the Kitchen at Moms, and I always used to say, when anything happens Mom can I have that, she thought it quite ugly, but I loved it, and as child I was fascinated by it, looking at the Giesha girl at the bottom of the cups.

One day I would like to visit Malaysia & Singapore, and see some of the places where he was stationed.
