Doggo did it again. We went for an early morning walk. No sooner had I let him off the lead, he doubled back and proceeded to roll in something that was very smelly and very dead. I tried to enjoy the rest of the walk - beautiful fields bathed in sunshine - but words such as hose, water and shampoo kept coming to mind. He trotted in front of me nearly all the way back - every time I tried to go upwind of him, he speeded up. He got a shampoo and set on our return.

I started reading Derek Jarman's Garden again. There's something about that book. We have a photo of Sam standing in the garden when he was about two years old. It was a magical place with the most amazing light.

Rowan went to her first concert last night - JLS and Olly Murs. She had an amazing time and was convinced that Aston winked at her! She has been floating on air ever since. She stayed over at a friends and then went on to a beach party where I met her later today. En route Murron and I stopped in Gullane to buy some sweets at the new sweetie shop. It was packed floor to ceiling with jars of every kind of sweet imaginable. Murron chose strawberry bonbons and sour apples. We eventually found Rowan on the beach with all her friends and her boyfriend (yes THE boyfriend) and I found that my sunglasses are in fact multi purpose - not only do help to protect my eyes from sun and hay fever, they also allow me to scrutinise boyfriends without being detected....

I gave a lift home to some of Rowan's friends and we took it in turns to choose songs from Now77! I can remember when those albums first started coming out...

Home to pizza, eaten outside in the sun, which led to this photo being taken.
