Relic of the past

When I saw this old sign in a wall of a house built around 1913 I realised my kids would most likely never know the joy of opening up a lovely handwritten letter....the excitement of waiting for news from a good friend or a reply from a secret love interest.

The only downfall of a handwtitten letter was sometimes trying to decipher bad handwriting.

I still have tied up with ribbons in a box somewhere, cherished letters from best friends, great-grandmother's and ex-boyfriends....yes my age is showing ;-)
