The family tree

My mother-in-law is compiling pictures of all family members to display on her living room wall.

My in-laws used to live in Chalmette, Louisiana, the town that got completely washed away when the levees on Mississippi river failed after the hurricane Katrina made the landfall in 2005.

The photo project is taking a while because almost all of her family photos were lost during Katrina. Fortunately, family and friends from out of town dug up some photographic proofs of Husband Dear's family pre-Katrina existence.

The drawing in lower right corner is unrelated (imagine that...). Just a sketch my sister-in-law's boyfriend did and forgot to take home. I thought it looked ridiculous next to the serious family tree project - and yet, because it also is a face of sorts, completed it somehow. Like the boyfriend is hoping to take a permanent place on the wall one day, saving some room till then.
