Hands off our pensions!

I was on strike today. Although I'm actually in the Universities Superannuation Scheme, my current institution is one where most members are in the Teacher's Pension Scheme, and the UCU called us out. The TPS is being raided by the Tory government to help pay off their friends the bankers - much like Robert Maxwell did but on a far grander scale - unless we stop them.

I spent most of the day in my flat writing a research proposal, for negative pay (had to make up my employer's contribution to the scheme in case I died during the day). But I did nip out to join this not unimpressive rally in Flag Square (named for the paving slabs rather than the banners, though both are useful in a riot, if it comes to that - which it may).
