The Thunder Home

We will be in Milledgeville, Ga this week for my daughter to attend tennis camp, so I will be roaming the surrounding area to find interesting blips!

This is Centennial Center at Georgia College and State University, home of their mascot, THUNDER the Bobcat! ...7 tennis courts, Olympic sized pool and 8 (that I could see) freshman dorms are behind...

Georgia College & State University has many fine athletic facilities in which to compete, highlighted by the $9 million multipurpose Centennial Center.

The Centennial Center, located within the historical district of Milledgeville, was completed in the fall of 1989, serves as the home for the Georgia College men's and women's basketball teams as well as the offices of the Bobcat athletic department in the 95,000 square-foot building.

The completion of the facility guaranteed that the Bobcats would be competing in one of the finest on-campus arenas in the state of Georgia and the southeast.

The Center has a seating capacity of 4,071 fixed seats and can accommodate up to 800 additional persons with the arranging of chairs on the floor. It features foldout end zone with upper bleachers and three full size basketball courts. Its primary use is for Bobcat basketball, but it also is excellent for large events such as concerts, conferences, general sessions or exhibits.
