Curcuma...

Saw this handsome flower at my garden center this morning. New to me, and very beautiful, it is in the Turmeric family.

After the scrumptious color and happy, upright bloom, what caught my eye were the small inner flowers in between the bracts. The potted plants were a new arrival at the center and customers were buying them like crazy! I've resisted until I can do a bit more research about how they grow and if they are truly suitable for Florida gardens.
